Dues

How are Dues Calculated?

Dues are calculated based on a few factors.  Dues are paid for the calendar year, not the academic year.  Therefore, your membership dues for a particular year are based on your membership status during that year.  For example, if you will be paying your dues for next year, and you are currently a candidate, then you will pay the dues as an associate for next year.  The base of the calculation is the varsity game fee during the year you are paying the dues to cover.  New officials have a different calculation.  Please see further explanation below.

Based on your level during the coverage year, you will use the following calculations:
Active & Associate Dues = 1.2 x Varsity Fee
Candidate = 0.8 x Varsity Fee
New Officials = NYSACFO Dues for one season

New members are known as Applicants and they have to pay first year dues up-front to become current (everyone else paid the year prior).  New members’ dues are equal to the NYSACFO dues.  However, if the new member starts in the spring, then he or she is required to take online training.  Due to the costs of this training, the new members’ dues for the year are waived.  Since the new members (Applicants) will be paying their candidate fees within a few months, they will pay dues at a lesser rate than the Active and Associate Members.
